Blogger Carnival #11

Sorry about the delay, Nobody of Nobody's Puzzles had a combination of RL and technical difficulties so they handed off this post, and the next round of hosting duties, to me.

The May Carnival theme was the Indianapolis 500

Indianapolis native, Kristi, of Adventures in Motherhood was the first to cross the finish line as she wrote about how she doesn't enjoy the cheese whiz on a cracker we call pizza, and how she misses The Race.  (I have to agree with her on the pizza, even though I've been a St. Louisan my entire life.)  Her post is filled with information for those who are familiar with The Race, and those who aren't.

Nobody else finished.  No, I'm not saying Nobody did.  Even Nobody forgot to write a post for the carnival.  They do wish to thank Kristi for participating.

That was the 11th Carnival.  Which means the June Carnival is #12.  To celebrate a full year of carnivals, Nobody decided to make this what some term a "Carousel edition."  That is, there is no theme.  You can write about anything.  The only catch is you need to pick the post you wish to submit, and follow the instructions below.

The Carnival Rules:

Interested STL Bloggers should write a new post on the stated theme by the specified deadline. They should then email the host at the provided email address with the following information:

1) Name of Blogger
2) Permalink URL of blog post
3) Title of Blog Post
4) URL of Blog
5) Title of Blog
6) Would you be interested in volunteering to be the next host? Yes/No
6a) If Yes – what would your theme be?

The host will then take all the submissions that meet the simple requirements of addressing the specified theme, and having been posted between the announcement and the deadline – and link to them from one post, with some annotative comments for each. This post shall be posted at StlBloggers.com, and if the host wishes, at their own blog. Participants should expect a delay of a few days between the deadline and this post.

The host will also choose the next host from the volunteers in any fashion they desire.

Thanks John/Gavroche for posting this for us.

Our technical difficulties seem to have been resolved, but our real life conflicts continue.

We've enjoyed the contributions to all of the carnivals this year.

I have had difficulty contacting the host for the next round, so I am going to try one other person who volunteered, and otherwise, I'll host again. Obviously the month of July will be skipped and we will resume in August.

The STL Blogger page was off center on my screen and I read topic title as, "phony dining suggestions." That's why Cybr and Rev's comments made perfect sense. Altho nachos ARE an every occasion food. Mmmmm nachoooooos.

consider one of the Asian restaurants just a little bit down grand. It's not that far, but it's far enough that you won't have to deal with parking and pre-show crowds.

Sillies. You must not have read 'The Lord of the Rings' part. It is obviously a high-class affair. Del Taco won't cut it.

Isn't there a Del Taco down the street a bit? It's been a few years since I was there since I just got back but I can't believe Del Taco wouldn't be considered.

That lawsuit also listed Novus as a defendant. Is it still active, or did they settle?

Show Me the Money
The city of Sunset Hills, MO was granted sovereign immunity. The residents ended up with what they started with. Some of the residents that had contracts, thought that the redevelopment was concrete with Novus. The residents went on to purchase other real estate, and got socked with two mortgages. If these eminent domain ammendments that were suppossed to be on the November ballot for the citizens to vote for, does not make the ballot, citizens everywhere will be subjected to the hands of your city muncipilities, who do not care about their residents, all they see is tax revenue for the city. Those cities that get greedy, will lose!
