Meeting about changes to the St. Louis Arch grounds
According to this article I read this morning on ksdk.com (http://www.ksdk.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=148781&catid=3), one of two public meetings about possible changes to the Arch grounds takes place tonight at the visitors center in Forest Park. Personally, I don't like the idea of messing with the Arch grounds themselves too much. It is a beautiful park! However, I do agree we need a better way to connect it with downtown, and the other bike and walking trails around (I think the Gateway Greenway and Waterway plans cover the trails part), and we need to do SOMETHING with our vacant riverfront. I'm not too keen on adding more museum buildings or food vendors to the grounds, though. I think the majesty of the Arch would be diminished with "clutter" on the grounds themselves. What do the rest of you bloggers think?

As Steve Levy and I wrote, sandbaggers are desperately needed north of the city. Even if you're working now, sandbagging is going on all night long.

Blogger Carnival #11
Sorry about the delay, Nobody of Nobody's Puzzles had a combination of RL and technical difficulties so they handed off this post, and the next round of hosting duties, to me.
The May Carnival theme was the Indianapolis 500
Indianapolis native, Kristi, of Adventures in Motherhood
was the first to cross the finish line as she wrote about how she
doesn't enjoy the cheese whiz on a cracker we call pizza, and how she
misses The Race.
(I have to agree with her on the pizza, even though I've been a St.
Louisan my entire life.) Her post is filled with information for
those who are familiar with The Race, and those who aren't.
Nobody else finished. No, I'm not saying Nobody did. Even Nobody forgot to
write a post for the carnival. They do wish to thank Kristi for participating.
That was the 11th Carnival. Which means the June Carnival is #12. To
celebrate a full year of carnivals, Nobody decided to make this what
some term a "Carousel edition." That is, there is no theme. You can
write about anything. The only catch is you need to pick the post you
wish to submit, and follow the instructions below.
The Carnival Rules:
Interested STL Bloggers should write a
new post on the stated theme by the specified deadline. They should
then email the host at the provided email address with the following
information:
1) Name of Blogger
2) Permalink URL of blog post
3) Title of Blog Post
4) URL of Blog

Nobody came up with the theme for April’s blogger carnival, and thus April’s carnival was hosted by Nobody. And there is something poetic about that, which is a good thing, since April’s theme was National Poetry month. Confused? No? Good.

In The National Poetry Month Poems By: The Baked Blogger, The Baked Blogger posted three poems, and the inspirations for each. There are also several poems from readers in the comment thread.
In her post, Measuring Out My Life in Coffee Spoons CasaChristy told the tale of her most notorious poem -- the story behind its creation and what has happened since. Some will feel the poem should carry a NSFW warning.
SarahLynn shared a Playground Rhyme
LisaS at Clearview had two entries, she wrote about her thoughts on Handprints and in More Found Object Sculpture she introduced a ‘new sort of spamku’.
John at TransylvanianDutch shared some poetry with us every day in April, starting with a baseball poem and ending with The Butterfly
We created a Poetic Goozle (Goozle: a puzzle you may need to use an internet search engine to solve.)
No one volunteered to host for the Month of May (a disturbing tradition) so Nobody will host again.
For May’s theme, we ask you to blog about an Annual May happening. The one that occurs during the weekend preceding the last Monday of the month. The Indianapolis 500. So write something about Indianapolis. Write something about car races in general. Write something about the number 500. Write something about Hoosiers. Or come up with another subject you feel able to connect to the Indianapolis 500.

StL Bloggers Carnival #9
The Theme for the March blog carnival was spring break memories. And it seems like maybe Anna Quindlen is in the minority with her assumption that all college kids go away for wild and crazy beach vacations without their parents every spring. Or, at least, her kids' experiences would be the minority among those who responded to this edition of the StL Bloggers carnival!
First up, in Spring Break Memories, Nobody from Nobody's Puzzles tells us how Nobody didn't go wild in Florida as a college kid on spring break. Nobody does, however, offer us a little puzzle to solve. I'm pretty sure that the answer is that nobody could possibly have fun at Circus Circus. (Just kidding. That's not my real answer. Although I might still be right about Circus Circus.)
Next up, Kristi from Adventures in Motherhood sounds like she really needs a fun spring break adventure in My Top 10 Favorite Spring Break Vacations.
